Lift Us Up, Dear Lord

But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

(Isaiah 40:31)

Oh Lord, we put our hope in you this day. Only you can free us from entanglements that rob us of your joy.  You may not take us out of our situations, but you do enable us to stand with you and reflect your light wherever you have placed us. So Lord, we join BW in praying for his three sons. Please enable them to reflect your love and grace as they interact with others. We pray that you bless his family with your grace and wisdom so that they know what to say when faced with their mother’s passivity and addiction to food, television.  We pray that you have mercy on her and reveal you glory, power, and love to her. Please give BW wisdom and grace.

Lord, some among us care for family members who cannot care for themselves. We ask that you heal those who are ill, but also, Lord, please tend to the caretakers who grow weary and faint. Please give them a measure of your grace. Lift them up like on the wings of an eagle! We pray for Laura and Sue whose mothers have Alzheimer’s and for _____________ (fill in names).

Lord, Diane is terribly oppressed by a demon that wakes her up at night and gives her dreadful visions. She is having a hard time concentrating at her job. Please Lord, remove this demon and soothe her. Renew her strength and bring Scriptures to her mind. She loves you, Lord, and wants to serve and be your witness in this world. You, who are mighty to save, enable her to stand with you, clothed in your holy armor.  Others we know struggle with spiritual darkness. We pray for _________________ (fill in names).

You alone are holy and good. You enable us to live a supernatural life. Lord, bless us with your holy love as we humbly bow before you and offer our sacrifice of praise to you, our Lord and God. Amen
